Job Title: Finance Technician
Salary: £30,294 to £32,552 plus a Location allowance of £1,639. You will receive £30,294 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £32,552 will be via incremental progression.

With tough budget and crime cutting targets it is even more important to have a high performing finance team that plays a key deliver in this. To help build on the progress already made we are recruiting Finance Technicians.
The Finance Technicians will support the business and Finance Business Partnering team in ensuring that the MPS achieves value for money and maximises value from the services it delivers while meeting the needs of the Business. Key responsibility will include:
- Supporting the Finance team with timely analysis regarding actual results and forecasts, enabling the team to propose options to ensure the organisation achieves its operational goals based on quality assured values.
- Supporting the Finance team with the design, build and maintenance of the service based costing model. Analysing the data as directed to address the commercial needs of the business and aiding the identification of areas for improvements and controlling MPS spend.
- Providing the Finance Team management information to enable the development of costing options for services that support the preparation of business cases.
- Data mining and analysis to support service costing, as directed, to identify key cost drivers and production of Value for Money data for benchmarking.
- Providing data analysis in support of ad hoc projects as directed.
- Providing financial analysis as directed to support the Finance Analysts.
- Modelling options as directed.
