Job Title: Civilian Investigator - Major Inquiries - Cold Case Homicide Team - 01
Salary: The starting salary is £40,519, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £37,510 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £40,141. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Major Inquiries – Homicide Team within Specialist Crime of the Metropolitan Police. We are looking for cold case homicide investigators who will deliver specialist investigative expertise to support the reinvestigation of non-recent unsolved homicides and major crime, ensuring high standards of investigation in line with legislative and policy requirements. The successful individual will exercise delegated investigative powers under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) to gather, preserve, and present evidence that contributes to the resolution of serious crime cases.
The role focuses on providing support to new homicide investigations, ensuring consistency and professionalism in evidence gathering, analysis, and case progression.
