Job Description:

The CID and tasking strand of RTPC- Tasking and Co-Ordination Team. 

Officers on tasking and co-ordination will have two distinct roles that are similar but unique, 1 Sergeant and 3 PCs will be responsible for the managing of Outstanding Wanted Offenders on the Command

  • Researching Wanted Offenders using all phases of the ‘Wanted Offender Phased Enforcement checklist’
  • Allocation of ‘top 10’ most wanted offenders in relation to Crime and ‘Vision Zero’
  • Developing and maintaining a working relationship with Met Intelligence (MO2) and requesting further assistance from them when required
  • Developing and maintaining a working relationship with ‘Op Nexus’ and UKBA in relation to persistent Foreign National Offenders (FNOs) on TFL services and London Road Network

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above Police Sergeants will have a strategic overview of all Outstanding Wanted Offenders that belong to MO8.  Line management responsibilities, leading their team and also regular contact with RTPC SLT on the RTPC Daily Grip Meeting (0930 Dial-in) in addition to the Monthly TTCG meeting.  There may also be a need to be operationally deployable in certain situations leading operations to capture and bring to justice ‘high-harm’ and wanted offenders.  Sergeants will also be required to administer CARMs when authorising Annual and other types of Leave for their officers.   

1 Sergeant and 3 PCs will be responsible fast-time enquiries assisting those forward-facing assets

  • Tactical Tasking and Co-Ordination Group intelligence
  • Identify and manage Forensic Docket allocation for Tasking
  • Take part in RTPC Daily conference call with regard to ‘urgent’ tasking
  • Liaising and tasking assets with regards to arresting ‘high-harm’ offenders and those subject to a ‘manhunt’.
  • Putting together briefing packs for specific tasking owned assets (Road Crime Team, Task Team etc)

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above Police Sergeants will have a strategic overview of TTCG intelligence, Forensic Docket results and particular attention to intelligence that requires urgent tasking to forward facing assets.  Sergeants may also be required to operationally deploy in certain instances to lead strategic investigations in relation to above duties.  Line management responsibilities, leading their team and also regular contact with RTPC SLT on the RTPC Daily Grip Meeting (0930 Dial-in) and also the Monthly TTCG meeting.  Sergeants will also be required to administer CARMs when authorising Annual and other types of Leave for their officers. 

These 2 sergeant roles are suitable for those on adjusted duties and this will be considered based on individual needs.
