This role will provide excellent opportunities for those seeking lateral development or evidence preparation in support of future promotion aspirations.  You will have line management and leadership of a small team of four (4) officers completing the roles of Performance Officer, Communications officer and two Engagement officers.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Within the last year a new team has been created to deliver the Taskforce engagement and overall ‘STRIDE’ strategy, improving trust, confidence and legitimacy of the Taskforce in communities across London. You will contribute to a range of emerging projects, and maintain oversight of the action plan for this.    
  • You will also oversee a communications plan to ensure Taskforce is effectively collaborating with partners and stakeholders and community groups, properly utilising social media and keeping our own officers and staff informed of critical issues.
  • Included in the communications plan is our ‘internal engagement’ strategy to help promote and develop our recruitment campaign into MO7.
  • You will oversee the production and dissemination of relevant performance information to interested parties.
  • You will support the Taskforce SLT and occasionally assist the wider Met Ops management teams. You will be depended upon to identify and assist in managing incidents that are significant for the Taskforce, including any reputational risk that may arise.
  • You will be expected to support the staff office to the Taskforce OCU commander for resilience to cover PS Staff officer abstractions. This involves managing email and calendars. In dealing with internal and external requests you will liaise with key stakeholders, including colleagues and partners at a senior level.
  • You will be required to support the SLT by attending meetings, producing professional and accurate minutes briefing notes and other documents and liaising with people from CRG and IAG’s.

 

Note                   All Taskforce SLT are Public Order Cadre officers. It is expected that you will be available for some weekend working in order to support CADRE and PIM roles.

 

Criteria            Essential

Strong leadership skills, strategic awareness, excellent communication and organisational skills, good IT skills, exceptional level of integrity and discretion, strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines, the ability to work accurately under pressure, a flexible approach in order to meet demand, but you will also be allowed flexibility as long as your objectives are met

Desirable

PSU Driver, trained Public order Loggist. .  Level 3 driver.

 

 

This vacancy is open to newly promoted officers currently on the select list as well as Substantive Sergeants.
