Job Title: Project Manager

Salary: £35,156 plus £2,623 location allowance.

Location: (Agile Working) Fulham, Westminster and other locations in the MPS Estate.

The Transformation Directorate is running a campaign for the role of Project Manager to work in Programme Delivery.

Job Role

Support the delivery of project(s) or work streams to cost, quality and time standards. Assist programme delivery to deliver the portfolio of transformation projects, ensuring expert project management, in order to deliver the Transformation Directorate roadmap efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and implement effective project delivery
  • Support communication and engagement with project stakeholders, developing and maintaining key relationships and working in partnership to resolve problems to benefit operational policing and the MPS
  • Work with the Transformation Directorate and local project / change teams to ensure consistency of project delivery  approach
  • Provide direction and leadership for the project delivery team in scope of the role
  • Support the building and sustaining of capacity and capability within the project team to deliver the programme
  • Deputise for the project manager where needed as the key point of contact between the project and the Transformation with authority to make delegated decisions, and be the key contact for the project for stakeholders
  • Deliver project outcomes and benefits
  • Support the project manager to manage the project, including set-up, management and delivery, ensuring that the project outputs are delivered to time, cost and quality and meets all Transformation processes, standards and  reporting requirements
  • Support co-ordination of the project/work stream and its interdependencies, working closely with the project managers for the other projects within the programme
  • Support identifying, managing and resolving risks, tracking and managing costs and benefits, providing reports as required, and ensuring all outputs meet project requirements
  • Lead project work streams as required, managing the delivery of  key outputs, managing and resolving risks and providing progress updates to the project manager as required
  • Manage stakeholder communications and key messages for the project / work stream
  • Maintain project / work stream plans and associated risks

Experience


  • Experience of working in a large and complex organisation
  • Experience of influencing, negotiating with, and providing challenge to management-level stakeholders
  • Experience of contributing to a collaborative culture team culture and an environment of continuous learning
  • Experience of working on complex projects



Qualifications


  • Professional qualification in relevant field is desirable, or willingness to work towards it

And / or


  • Professional and/or graduate qualifications in business management or similar field, MSP or PRINCE 2 qualification is desirable
