This is an exciting time to be working as Garage Hand for the Metropolitan Police Service.

In addition to large-scale transformation, there's the unique and ever-evolving challenge of policing London. This means that as a Garage Hand, there are more opportunities for you to get involved with making London the safest global city in a time of unprecedented change within the UK's largest Police Service.

The Marine Policing Unit (MPU) is responsible for policing the 47 miles of the River Thames within the MPS area (Dartford to Hampton Court) as well as providing specialist response to over 250 miles of canals and waterways, lakes and reservoirs and other bodies of water in London.

The Metropolitan Police Marine workshop is responsible for all the maintenance and repairs carried out on the current fleet of vessels used by the MPU. An exciting opportunity has become available for a Garage Hand to assist in the maintenance, cleanliness, efficiency and productivity of the workshop by carrying out a wide range of duties.
