Location: Marlowe House, Peel Centre Hendon

Could you provide high quality reporting for the UK’s biggest police service?

Knife crime, missing persons, homicide, body worn cameras – our senior staff and officers need accurate data about these and many other areas. As an Information Analyst, you’ll make sure Met Police reporting is efficient, high quality and understandable; providing vital insight about every aspect of our world.

In a city where the challenges of policing evolve every day, we need to know the latest facts and figures for a huge range of areas. We also need information about our resources, finances and progress as the Met Police changes and transforms. As an Information Analyst, you’ll make sure we have detailed, accurate data about our organisation and everything it touches. This information is not just required by our leaders, but also by bodies such as the GLA, MOPAC and the Home Office.

You’ll be working with a complex organisation with dozens of reporting systems, which means you’ll have an extremely varied role. And, as we move to new platforms, you’ll have the chance to develop the way we work and make the most of the valuable data we hold.

Day to day, you’ll design, build and maintain automated workflows that extract, process and present data from corporate systems as part of the Data & Insight team. You’ll therefore need expertise in SQL Server, Alteryx or FME to create automated reporting solutions. You’ll also build and develop FACT tables, and develop the suite of measures using Tableau so that performance can be published internally and the Met website. We’ll be looking for the ability to write complex SQL script to extract, manipulate, structure and present data.

We’ll also expect you to have a good grasp of the principles of relational database design and experience of data management. Above all, you must understand the importance of conveying data in suitable formats and providing high quality insights. Organised, collaborative and motivated, you’ll be ready to lead others and make your skills count.

To apply, please visit our website to download a role specific information pack. Applications will be via an online application form.

Completed applications must be returned by 15th January 2020.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.

As a Disability Confident Committed Employer the Met have committed to ensuring that disabled people and those with long term health conditions have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations
