Job Title: Productivity and Collaboration Manager

Salary: £58,460 to £62,614 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £58,460 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £62,614 will be via incremental progression.

The Metropolitan Police Service has a user base of 50,000 officers and staff who access our technology solutions daily. To support them in delivering the Met's mission of More Trust, Less Crime, and Higher Standards, we're looking for a Productivity and Collaboration Manager to lead on the governance, secure adoption, and usage of the Met's Microsoft 365 capabilities. The successful candidate will play a central role in the Met's ability to successfully implement and deliver the Microsoft 365 suite of productivity and collaboration tools. 

We are looking for a professional who can take ownership of reviewing and revising the Met's Microsoft 365 governance model and associated documentation. In this role, you will propose, create and update spot-on policies and guidelines about using Microsoft 365. We expect you to drive the introduction of new features and tools based on business demands collaborating closely with the IT Security teams on all aspects of our Microsoft 365 solution. You will also be the single point of contact for all internal and external audits relating to Microsoft 365. Therefore, you must feel comfortable working in a silo and as part of the broader team. 

To be successful in this role, you'll need to employ a blend of technical and soft skills. As well as being an expert in Microsoft 365 technologies (particularly Productivity and Collaboration Tools, Power Platform and Office Online), you will be required to influence wider teams and senior leadership. Using your excellent communication skills coupled with experience in conflict and issue resolution in challenging situations, the key to success in this role is the ability to be a strong collaborator, facilitator and negotiator.

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate the following skills on their CV and Statement of Suitability.

  • Expert-level experience with Microsoft Products
  • Strong experience in designing and revising a Governance framework
  • Strong communication skills, such as influencing, negotiation, collaboration and facilitating 
  • Experience working with 3rd party organisations
  • An understanding of Technology Audits

Essential Criteria:

  • Evidence of Inclusive Behaviour.

Knowledge

  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft 365 technologies, particularly Productivity and Collaboration, Power platform and Office Online
  • Understanding of Service Management
  • Understanding of product governance and roadmaps
  • Understanding of security management
  • Detailed understanding of supplier service management
  • Ideally familiarity with Met governance structures

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, collaboration, facilitation, negotiation and achieving results by influencing others
  • Effective conflict and issue resolution skills
  • Ability to influence wider Team and Senior Management in challenging situations
  • Strong all-round communication skills, able to present to large and small groups alike

Experience

  • 5+ years of governing Microsoft 365 adoption and usage in a commercial IT environment
  • SharePoint on premises/online, MS Teams and OneDrive for business
  • Exchange online, Intune, Azure, Active Directory and PowerPlatform
  • Information Security and Data Protection
  • Financials, business cases and IT contracts
  • Driving business demands, mapping them on the available tools or towards announced roadmaps
  • Experience of Performance Management and KPI delivery
  • Experience of delivering in a multi supplier projects and programmes contract
  • Experience of working within a public sector environment and public sector governance
