Job Title: MIR Reader/Receiver, Band K1- MIR - CTP London
Salary: The starting salary is £39,732, which includes allowances totalling £7,017.
The salary is broken down as £32,715 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £37,200. Plus, a 12.5% shift disturbance allowance, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job Summary
SO15 Major Incident Room (MIR) are teams of staff responsible for receiving, reviewing and indexing all material gathered during Counter Terrorism Major investigations and the subsequent tasking of investigators to drive and direct investigations.
Key Tasks
The post holder will be required to do the following:
- Receive, read and assess documentation entering the investigation.
- Identify and prioritise lines of enquiry
- Prioritise and raise actions to task investigators
- Quality assure documentation entering the investigation, raise actions to rectify.
- Ensure documents are stored and marked according to GSC guidance.
- Attend SIO briefings / brief SIO on investigations.
- Prioritise workloads ensuring actions are raised and returned in given timescales.
- Assess and mark documents for registration highlighting content to be indexed by HOLMES indexers.
- Record summary of documents.
- Deputise for the Holmes Office manager
- Work with case officer to build comprehensive case files
- Give evidence at criminal courts and tribunals.
Key Skills
The post holder must have:
- Willingness to undertake Developed Vetting.
Additional Information:
- Please note that the opportunities for remote working are limited in this role.
- You will be based at the Empress State Building, but may occasionally be required to work at alternative locations.
- In order to attract a 12.5% Shift Disturbance Allowance, you will be asked to work a shift pattern which involves working between 0700 – 1900 hours Monday to Friday.
- There is an expectation that the successful applicant will stay in post a minimum of 2 years.
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.
As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process.
