Job Title: Counter Terrorism Security Advisor (CTSA) Office Administrator 

Salary: The starting salary is £ 33,348, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.

The salary is broken down as £30,507 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £32,639 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

An opportunity has arisen to fill a permanent full-time position in the PSO, CTSA Team, working to unit supervisors and managing varied administrative functions crucial to the functioning of the MPS CTSA Team. 

Key Tasks

  • Working alongside the Unit Supervisors ensuring the office runs effectively according to the Unit Lead’s direction
  • Administer key performance indicators, tracking and reviewing performance alongside supervisors, regularly submitting performance data as directed
  • Resource management including training, renewal of qualifications, recording of absence and leave to maintain effective operational delivery
  • Managing various databases and storage solutions, both electronic and hard copy based
  • Administer tasks both short term and ongoing
  • Respond to enquiries both internal and external, directing to appropriate individuals to deal
  • To provide an initial point of contact to the team
  • Assist / manage procurement activities
  • Oversee the Office space and ensure maintained to the expected standard

Vetting 

This post requires access to the sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Secret Vetting (SC) level before taking up the post.

Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution may be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.

Essential For The Role, e.g. qualifications, licenses, languages, training 

Essential Experience / Skills

  • Good administration / office administration experience working alongside both police officers and staff.
  • Applicants will be expected to have a high level of personal responsibility, drive and ability to work to constrained timescales with minimal supervision.  Ability to organise, prioritise and work flexibly to meet shifting demands and diversity of tasks,
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within and outside of PSO/CTSA using a variety of media
  • Good knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Good knowledge of MPS storage systems, eg: BOX, shared folders.
  • Must be prepared to undergo SC vetting and S/TK STRAP induction
  • Creative, innovative and enterprising when seeking solutions to business needs with a positive and adaptable approach
  • Applicants must be prepared to sign a Confidentiality Agreement upon taking up the post

Desirables

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Cabinet Office STRAP Supplement
  • Knowledge of the METSEC code and Government Security Classification (GSC)
  • Have a good understanding of how United Kingdom NCT works and how NaCTSO interacts with specific aspects of these agencies
  • Good skills at note taking and minute writing
  • Knowledge of the Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) and PSO OCU's structure and unit functions
  • Familiar with MPS secure information and communication technology (ICT) systems and operating procedure
