Job Title: Modern Slavery and Child Exploitation (MSCE) Investigations Disclosure Officer. This role requires experience in the role as Disclosure Officer as well as HOLMES computer system.
Salary: The starting salary is £38,926, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,523 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

The Unit:
The Modern Slavery and Child Exploitation (MSCE) Investigation Teams Unit proactively and reactively target the most harmful international Organised Crime Groups (OCGs) who traffic people internationally for the purpose of labour, sexual or criminal exploitation.
The MSCE Investigation Teams also proactively target domestic OCGs and prolific offenders who exploit children either criminally (CCE) or sexually (CSE).
Due to the degree of sexual and criminal exploitation taking place in London, the MSCE Unit is at the forefront of dealing with violence against women and children.
We are seeking a Band D Disclosure officer to support a CSE investigation, the successful candidate we have a key role within the criminal justice system working closely with key stakeholders particularly the Crown Prosecution Service. This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months which will be reviewed after 10 months in post.
The Successful candidate will work as part of a highly motivated, diverse team based at Cam Road. You will be supervised by a Detective Sergeant.
Investigations are managed on HOLMES and you will take on the role of the ‘Disclosure Officer’ as defined by the Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA). This will involve liaising with the Officer in the case (OIC) reviewing material, making redactions and completing schedules as required for submission to the CPS.
You will assist the OIC by providing advice on disclosure matters in relation to the complex investigation as required, including the ‘disclosure strategy’ and Early Advice to CPS. Where appropriate, you will review the relevant circumstances of the case with the OIC and apply knowledge of the CPIA 1996 and other relevant legislation & guidance and relevant experience of investigations. This will include reviewing the case file (including MG6 series) before any onward submission, particularly prior to a ‘full code’ test submission. This will also include reviewing disclosure matters with OIC post-charge, especially prior to the first hearing.
Essential Skills and experience
- Previous experience working within the investigation / criminal justice environment
- Experience in Disclosure and the role of ‘Disclosure Officer’.
- Thorough knowledge of the Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA).
- Thorough knowledge of Attorney General Guidelines on Disclosure 2024.
- HOLMES experience.
- Accredited PIP two investigator

Hours/Shift Pattern
Flexible working is not a barrier to a specialist role. Specialist Crime are working closely with Project Balance, so flexibility is accessible to all. We welcome applications from staff who need to work flexibly, whether part time, compressed hours or other.
Our unit operates 365 days a year however this role is Monday to Friday office hours.
There is no on-call requirement, and this role is not subject to a shift allowance.
Statement of Expectation
Due to business reasons please be aware there is a length of service you would be expected to serve in this role which is fixed term contract for 12 months. This will be confirmed at the time of posting, it is the expectation that the staff member will be able to commit to this period, as a minimum which will be reviewed at 10 months. Statement of Expectation Agreements are subject to annual review and may be changed at any time for reasons other than career development, such as considerable investment in training.
