Job Title: Protective Security Advisor - NaCTSO Personal Security Team - Counter Terrorism Policing HQ
Salary: The starting salary is £53,459, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £50,531 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £55,103. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job Summary
The Personal Security team provide personal security advice to individuals who may be at risk from serious physical harm or deemed a legitimate target by their association, their role, or political association. The team draw on their own expertise and experience, National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) colleagues and the Counter Terrorism Security Advisor (CTSA) network as well as liaising with the National Protective Security Agency (NPSA) and other external agencies and private industry to establish and evolve CTP’s personal security guidance.
They support the on-going exploration and understanding of innovative protective security options, which are used across the Personal Security arena.
Key Tasks
The post holder will be required to do the following:
- Support and develop protective and personal security advice/guidance for delivery to, and by, the CTSA network.
- Assist in the delivery of protective security advice and guidance to individuals, businesses and His Majesties Govt. depts.
- Assist in the development of innovative protective security measures and techniques.
- Assist in the creation and review of protective security plans for high threat individuals and those subject to on-going CT/C-ST investigations.
- Support Op. BRIDGER and Op. FORD with the personal security briefings to elected officials at time of increased threat, and in the run-up to any relevant elections.
Key Skills
The post holder must have:
- Completed the national CTSA accreditation process, having attained a certificate of Professional Competence by successfully passing the CTSA Foundation Course.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience of delivering in high pressure environment
- Experience of working across the CT network
- Experience of briefing up to senior staff both internally and externally
- The ability to work with key stakeholders
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.
As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process.
