Help us protect an amazing city

Keeping the capital safe takes all kinds of measures – and all kinds of skills. Right now, we need a CBRN Technical Support Engineer with expertise in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear detection methods and technologies. It’s a chance to put your talents to good use supporting vital operations across an amazing city. Join us and help protect millions of people.

You’ll be part of the Threat Mitigation Technologies department in our CBRNE Technical Support Team. Working with officers and fellow engineers, you’ll support capabilities including explosives and CBRN detection equipment, Electronic Countermeasures, EOD equipment and Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems technologies. Your work will contribute to both covert and overt operations, and may involve procuring, modifying, testing and operating a range of systems. Join us, and you’ll enjoy a varied and critical role, where you’ll be operating out in the field.

We’re looking for a background in electronics, electromechanical engineering and/or a scientific discipline (physics and or chemistry). Ideally, you’ll have specialist knowledge of an area such as CBRN detection methods, monitoring and analysing the RF spectrum and the ability to communicate technical subject matter to a non-technical audience. Wherever your expertise lies, you’ll be up to speed on counter terrorist search and detection technologies and the principles they’re based on. Plus, you’ll be highly organised and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Reporting to a Leading Engineer within the CBRNE Technical Support Team, you will work with other engineers and police officers to provide a range of technical capabilities to support policing in London.
