Chief Inspector

London is changing, the expectations of Londoners are changing – and the Met Police is changing too.

This is an exciting time to be working for the Met. In addition to large-scale transformation, there’s the unique and ever-evolving challenge of policing London. This means that as a Chief Inspector, you will need to provide strong leadership and management in a time of unprecedented change within the UK’s largest Police Service.

We’ll look to successful candidates to deliver results in line with our priorities, working collaboratively with our partners to understand and manage the diverse needs of our customers and communities in all that we do. We are looking for candidates who have a strong track record of delivery in a variety of environments. This includes an ability to work to corporate and local objectives within a culture of change, as well as managing resources effectively.

As a leader, you’ll face a number of challenges including dramatic crime reduction, ensuring that our policing style meets community expectations, and maintaining effective policing against a changing economic climate.

We will be holding a candidate briefing on the 2nd July, during the expression of interest window to provide you insights into the promotion process. The briefings will be opened by DAC Matt Twist, and guest speakers will provide advice as to how you can look to prepare for this process. If you are interested in attending this session and have not already booked on, please contact us on 01633 632500 (option 4).

This career opportunity is open to exceptional Inspectors/Detective Inspectors looking for promotion, and Chief Inspectors/Detective Chief Inspectors with a proven track record of effective delivery.
