Job Title: Business Change Lead

Salary: £50,897 to £62,015 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £50,897 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £62,015 will be via incremental progression.

Location: Primarily MetCC Lambeth, although will be required to attend other MPS sites, or locations outside of the MPS estate as part of the role.

The role holder will lead, manage and coordinate business change strategies to drive performance improvements across the OCU; ensuring external industry practices and internal change projects put the MPS at the forefront of technological advances. Providing commitment to the organisation that enables the MPS to remain a world leader in contact management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

You will need to develop delivery plans for transformation and local projects and programmes whilst effectively managing the impact on the command, the wider MPS, key stakeholders and the Critical National Infrastructure.

The Business Change Lead will work collaboratively with external national and international stakeholders, other Business Groups across the MPS, public safety experts and other change specialists to ensure change activities result in improved performance outcomes.

Ensuring OCU compliance to Data Protection Legislations. 

Hold strategic responsibility for the management and delivery of multiple external contracts, assuring quality and value for money.

Essential Criteria:

  • Expert level of knowledge of Programme and Project Management systems and processes
  • Advanced experience of project and programme delivery, portfolio assurance and governance compliance.
  • Advanced experience in delivering and managing large-scale complex projects both internally or externally of the MPS.
  • Expert knowledge of internal and external procurement principles and applications.
  • Experience of working with senior leaders in a complex technical and demanding change portfolio.
  • Experience of influencing, negotiating with, and providing challenge to executive -level stakeholders.
  • Advanced experience of developing organisational capability in business change activities.
  • Experience of resolving and escalating risks, issues and conflicts as necessary within a complex change portfolio.
  • Proven ability to work in partnership with other agencies, forces and business groups to agree, write and implement policy that enables cross-working according to mutual interests.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement / consultation skills, internally across the organisation and with external partners.

Desired Criteria:

  • Business Change, Project management or Change Management Qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience of managing budgets associated to external contracts.
  • Knowledge of transformation programmes and internal / external projects across the MPS and their impact on MetCC.

Additional Information:

Please note these roles will operate on a Monday to Friday basis, during typical office hours yet to be decided, but likely to be between 8am to 6pm. Therefore, they will not attract premium pay for rostered working or shift disturbance allowance (SDA). Other allowances will be payable in accordance with the Police Staff Pay & Allowances Manual. Flexibility around hours will be required when workload demands. Flexible working may be considered in line with the role.
