London doesn’t stand still, and neither do we

In London’s Met you will have plenty of opportunities to continue your professional development. The Met is involved in a wide range of operations and policing events, each presenting their own distinct opportunities to broaden skill sets, on a scale that wouldn’t be found in any other police service.

Life as a Met Superintendent

Our ambition is to be the most trusted police service in the world. As a Superintendent, you will need to provide strong leadership and management in a time of unprecedented change within the UK’s largest Police Service. The trust and confidence of our customers and communities will be a direct reflection of how you fulfil the challenges of the role. You will achieve this by leading by example, upholding our professional standards, and showing personal flexibility in the face of change.

Being an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for driving through the largest change to place in our organisation's history. You will achieve this by upholding our professional standards, overseeing the management of large teams and delivering projects, both locally, and across London.

As a leader, often with independent command, you’ll face a number of challenges including achieving continued crime reduction, ensuring that our policing style meets community expectations, and maintaining effective policing against a changing economic climate.
