Support the team that’s protecting the public

The Met Police are the UK’s largest police service, responsible for protecting a vast and vibrant city. In this key Admin Support role, you’ll join our dedicated Referencing & Vetting team. It’s an opportunity to build your experience and enjoy generous Met rewards. But best of all, you’ll play your part in helping the Met to keep the public safe.

Our Referencing & Vetting (R&V) service carries out a number of vital checks. Through four key teams, the service: vets anyone who applies to work with children or vulnerable adults; registers visitors to the UK of certain nationalities; checks the records of all officers and staff; and makes sure that Met data is up-to-date.

Your task is to work closely with the Service Delivery Director across all four areas. It’s a varied office role where you’ll manage diaries, respond to emails and answer telephone enquiries. You’ll also arrange meetings, take minutes and prepare briefing notes and reports. An organised approach is essential, as you’ll need to manage a busy workload.

Perhaps you’ve worked in a similar role or have relevant qualifications. Whatever your background, you must be professional and computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. You should also be good with people and ready to work in a team. We’re looking for initiative, discretion and integrity too, as you’ll be working with confidential materials.

In return, we offer a Met pension, generous annual leave and the chance to develop your skills.

To apply, please visit our website to download a role specific information pack and click on the link to complete and submit the online application form.

Completed applications must be submitted by 23.55pm on Wednesday 4th April.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
